Affiliate FAQ

Answers to the most common questions from Routri affiliate partners.

Getting Started

Who can join the Routri Affiliate Program?

The program is open to travel bloggers, content creators, influencers, travel websites, comparison platforms, newsletter publishers, and social media creators with at least 1,000 followers. We review each application based on content quality, audience relevance, and alignment with our brand.

How do I apply?

Visit our Affiliate Program page and click "Register Now." Fill out the application with your website or social media details, audience size, and how you plan to promote Routri. Applications are reviewed within 5 business days.

Is there a cost to join?

No. The Routri Affiliate Program is completely free. There are no setup fees, monthly fees, or minimum booking requirements to maintain your account.

What tools do I get as an affiliate?

Once approved, you'll have access to the Affiliate Dashboard where you can generate tracking links for any tour or destination page, access banner ads and widgets, view real-time click and conversion data, and download brand assets. We also provide deep linking tools so you can link directly to specific tours.

Links & Tracking

How do I create affiliate links?

In your Affiliate Dashboard, you can generate a tracking link for any page on Routri — tour pages, destination pages, category pages, or the homepage. Simply paste the URL and the system generates your unique affiliate link. You can also use our browser extension for one-click link generation.

How long does the tracking cookie last?

Routri uses a 30-day cookie window. If a traveler clicks your link and books within 30 days, you earn commission. The cookie resets with each new click, so if someone clicks your link again, the 30-day window restarts.

What attribution model do you use?

We use last-click attribution. If a traveler clicks multiple affiliate links before booking, the commission goes to the last affiliate whose link was clicked within the cookie window.

Why aren't my clicks showing in the dashboard?

Common reasons include ad blockers on the traveler's browser, cookie restrictions (especially in Safari and Firefox with enhanced tracking protection), or incorrect link formatting. Ensure you're using the links generated by the dashboard, not manually constructed URLs. Some click loss is normal and typically ranges from 5–15%.

Commission & Payments

What is the commission rate?

The standard commission rate is 5% of the total booking value. Premium affiliates generating more than 50 bookings per month may qualify for enhanced rates up to 8%. Commission is calculated on the full booking amount including add-ons.

When do I get paid?

Commissions are paid monthly on the 15th, covering qualifying bookings completed in the previous month. There's a 30-day holding period after the experience date to account for cancellations. The minimum payout threshold is $50 USD.

What payment methods are available?

We support bank transfer and PayPal. Select your preferred method in the Affiliate Dashboard. Transaction fees from your payment provider are your responsibility.

What happens if a booking is cancelled?

If a booking is cancelled and refunded, no commission is payable. If the cancellation happens after commission has been paid, the amount is deducted from your next payout. Partial refunds result in recalculated commission on the remaining amount.

Do I earn commission on repeat customers?

You earn commission on any booking made within the 30-day cookie window after a click on your link. If a traveler returns to Routri after the cookie expires and books without clicking your link again, that booking is not attributed to you.

Promotion & Best Practices

What are the best ways to promote Routri?

The highest-converting affiliates write authentic content — destination guides, tour reviews, "best things to do" articles, and travel itineraries with naturally placed affiliate links. Video content (YouTube, TikTok, Instagram Reels) showing actual tour experiences also performs well. Avoid generic "click here to book" calls to action; instead, share your genuine experience or recommendation.

Do I need to disclose my affiliate relationship?

Yes. You must clearly disclose your affiliate relationship in compliance with FTC guidelines, ASA regulations, and any applicable local advertising standards. Use clear language like "affiliate link," "I earn a commission if you book through this link," or "#ad." Failure to disclose is a violation of our terms and may result in account termination.

Can I use paid advertising to promote my affiliate links?

Yes, with restrictions. You may use paid social media ads, display ads, and content promotion. However, you may not bid on "Routri," "routri.com," or misspellings in search engine ads (Google Ads, Bing Ads) without prior written approval. Violating this policy results in immediate termination.

Can I promote Routri on social media?

Absolutely. Social media is one of the most effective channels for affiliates. Share your affiliate links in posts, stories, bio links, and video descriptions. Use tools like Linktree to organize multiple affiliate links. Remember to disclose the affiliate relationship in each post.

Account & Support

Can I have multiple affiliate accounts?

No. Each individual or business may have only one affiliate account. Creating multiple accounts to manipulate tracking or earn duplicate commissions is a violation of our terms.

What happens if I want to leave the program?

You can deactivate your account at any time through the Affiliate Dashboard. Outstanding commissions above the $50 minimum threshold will be paid in the next regular payment cycle. You must remove all Routri affiliate links and brand assets from your platforms within 14 days of leaving.
