Pickup at 12:40 a.m. was on time and we reached the pyramids around 8:00 a.m. Our guide Mostafa was friendly and gave good explanations. A 10-minute camel ride could be booked for €10 per person and the driver took photos with your phone. However, the itinerary was suddenly changed. Instead of the Ancient Museum we were taken to the Museum of Civilization, which required an extra €6 per person even though both museums officially cost the same (550 EGP). The payment was made at a perfumery checkout, which felt unusual. After the Sphinx we were taken to a perfume shop and a papyrus gallery, which were not mentioned in the description and took quite some time. Lunch was good and the optional boat ride was enjoyable. The museum visit with the mummies was interesting. Before leaving, the guide asked us to rate the tour in front of him and suggested not mentioning the museum change. Return trip from 4 p.m. was fine. Food overall was limited. No breakfast, no dinner.
