The actual tour on the felucca was good. I signed up for the two hour ride, which I would recommend against because the felucca can't pass under the bridge. The captain took the boat our and we sailed in a circle to make up the second hour. One hour is all you need. Our guide spoke good English, but she was young. She told us a few things, but could do more research and have a bit more background knowledge about contemporary Cairo and Egypt.

We had a wonderful hour on our Felucca trip on the Nile. We were picked up at our hotel, by two very cheerful young men in there minibus. And taken to the spot where our Felucca Captain was waiting for us. Our booking was 11am to 1pm but our hotel was very close to the starting point, so our trip took less time. Our time on the water remained the same as promised of course. The booking said it was a Private Felucca Ride, and that is exactly what it was. Just the two of us, plus of course the Guide (Hamlin) and our Captain. We set sail on a beautiful warm sunny day and soon after, my wife was aloud to steer the vessel. Then the Captain boldly handed control over to me. Then, to my surprise, he left me to it and with a bit of guidance let me bring the vessel all the way back and even berth it while they tied it up to the dock. We were then taken back to the hotel. A wonderful, Calm, Relaxing experience. This is a very affordable/cheap trip. Don't forget, tip the Guide/Driver and Captain.

Salma is an excellent guide, the Nile Ride with her was entertaining and great fun! The trip as such was well organized, the pick-up at the hotel and the car ride to the jetty and back worked well. Thank you very much for this unforgettable event!
